Help us Define Beautiful . . . this is Maria's current Artists Project!
What is Beautiful?
Beautiful is simply a celebration of beautiful subjects created to show them from different angles - Artistic, Vintage & creatively portrayed. This collection of artwork is meant to show how an Artist views a subject.
People define the word 'beautiful' in very different ways to describe a human beings exterior beauty - but what does that even mean?... some people will envision a young woman with the perfect figure and skin. Others will envision someone who is fair with dark hair . . . which makes the word "beautiful" an incredibly broad term doesn't it? Is beauty all about the exterior? We don't think so. There is beauty in so many forms.
PROJECT BEAUTIFUL is Maria's current artists project. She hand selects her subjects, then creates imagery of them to show "beautiful" - what "beautiful" is in her eyes and completes the vision. The result is a personal project portfolio which she then uses for display and publications - and competitions alike. Participants of this project greatly benefit from the end result alike.
This project is currently open and is in place until Maria is satisfied with the images she has produced to close it. Creating artwork that feeds her - on her terms. That is what an Artists Project is.
Who should apply?
We are looking for subjects here in Charleston, SC between the ages of 3-100 years of age. Human beings that have character and are not afraid to share their beauty AND STORY with the rest of the world. We want to capture and tell their story through artwork. Maybe your son/daughter/children have something that captivates people and you feel that story needs told? Is it your father you find to have the qualities of "beautiful" because of his life story? Have you yourself been through something in your life and come out the other end - and you are the definition of beautiful? Remember that it's ok to celebrate and love yourself - STRENGTH is beauty!
Please understand that beauty is found in many forms and this project is meant to show EXACTLY that. We are not looking for supermodels - although yes they are beautiful. We are more looking for raw beauty in different sizes, shapes, forms, stories and creative angles. We want to tell stories through imagery that show that BEAUTIFUL is subjective.
