A Warrior’s Story: How Shawn Turned Pain Into Art

For Shawn, his tattoos are much more than body art. They represent a deeply personal journey of love, loss, healing, and the warrior spirit that has carried him through life.

Where His Journey Began

Shawn began his tattoo journey on September 14, 2018, during Hurricane Florence. The timing of that day marked the beginning of something that would become incredibly meaningful to him.

After losing his wife of 33 years , Shawn found himself navigating a kind of heartbreak that is difficult to put into words. In the years that followed, tattoos became a form of therapy for him, offering a way to process his experiences and express emotions that words alone could not capture.

Each session became part of a larger journey, allowing him to transform some of his deepest pain into something he could carry with him.

More Than 260 Hours in the Making

As a retired U.S. Army Special Forces soldier, known as a Green Beret, Shawn understands what it means to be a warrior. His tattoos reflect that identity, telling a story that extends far beyond what meets the eye.

His full-body tattoo suit is designed to flow together as one cohesive piece, with each element contributing to the larger story of his life. With more than 260 hours spent in the tattoo chair, this incredible work of art represents a commitment to telling his story in a way that is uniquely his own.
