Why are you waiting too long??

I can't quite put into words how much pets mean to us. They're not children. . . they aren't even human but somehow they mean so incredibly much to us! They become our best friends & fur babies in such a quick amount of time. They fully depend on us to keep them alive and it creates a bond of a protector and that's so special. We want to love something that shows us such unconditional love. We're their entire world!

Unfortunately pets don't tend to outlive us. What upsets me the most is when I have someone email or call me in Charleston, SC that their pet has passed away and want a painting done. It's always hard for me because I CAN do it. . . but it's difficult. I often miss out on small details that you always remember or noticed that was special about YOUR fur baby. Not because I can't paint them, but because it's hard to find those details in old pictures. It's impossible to get the perfect lighting or right angles with your iPhone or Android. That's why I always encourage you to bring in your pet while you still can! Don't wait! Capture your best friend while they're still alive and well.

A perfect example is the pup below. As you can see, the end result is still beautiful. It took so much time to try and zoom in and out - the lighting was also far from perfect. Imagine if I could've had this fluff ball in the studio with me to capture the different fur colours, textures, and maybe even a different angle. I could've captured the twinkle in the pup's eyes. I could've gotten the pose this dog was known to do. It's just another perfect example as why you shouldn't wait!

What are you waiting for?
