Heirloom clothing

I've only been in Charleston, SC for a couple of years now but one of the many things I love is how important tradition is! I love meeting families and learning about their traditions and the important family values they have. It's so special and unique to each family. One thing I absolutely adore is creating beautiful portraits and paintings of generations and seeing the same portrait of each child, at the same age, wearing the same dress... I get appointments often to photograph daughters in the same dress their mother wore and It makes me so happy to see this!  Heirloom clothing is such a big thing here and while a lot of my clients have sewn their own clothes (which is absolutely amazing!) I know a lot of clients that start the tradition with clothing from places like Crescent Moon or Strasburg Children! Both of these stores have gorgeous heirloom clothing and it's all so beautifully timeless! The clothes will be beautiful 5, 10, 15, or even 20 years from now. Could you imagine wearing a little dress when you were 5 and then having your daughter wear the SAME dress when she's five???? Tradition is so important to create beautiful memories and of course, artwork. It goes through generations and can be displayed side by side! You might be amazed how much you two look alike as well!
