Same person, different looks

One of the things I love most about what I do is being able to capture someone in a "different" light. You can completely change the look of a person by changing the colors, clothing and of course, the light. As parents we want to see our children 'young' - we want to preserve the innocence as long as we possibly can, right? I strive for that always - but it is a lot of fun to capture and show different looks. When Ella came in to be photographed we decided to go for two completely different looks. The blue flowered dress with her new ring her dad had just gotten for her looked so sweet. There are SO MANY incredible portraits that it is hard to pick one to share...

Then she changed into something a little darker and we went for an edgier look. Still very classic BUT it showcases her new 'industrial' piercing which she is very proud of. This was her favorite portrait and I figured it would be!

When planning a portrait session it is incredibly important to plan out the 'feel', colors and style. I love classic portraiture in general - but classic does not only mean heirloom - it can mean a lot of things.

Thank you Ella for coming in and spending some time with me in the studio! It was awesome and I love your portraits!
